VEREA MISSION FAQ

🔧 INSTALLATION & COMPATABILITY

Are Verea Pan and Cover tiles compatible with standard battens and underlayment?

Yes. They are installed over spaced battens with a waterproof underlayment. Installation is similar to traditional two-piece mission tile systems, and no special clips are required unless specified by local code.

What roof slope is recommended for installing Verea tiles?

We recommend a minimum slope of 4:12 when using a waterproof underlayment. For areas with heavy rain or snow, a steeper pitch improves performance and aesthetics.

Can I use Verea Pan and Cover tiles on a dome or curved roof?

Yes! Their two-piece design makes them flexible for curved or conical applications like turrets, domes, or towers. It’s one of the reasons architects choose them for Mediterranean and Spanish-style homes.

🎨 COLOR & BLENDING

Do the colors of Verea tiles vary from batch to batch?

Some variation is natural due to the kiln-firing process and the use of natural clays. It adds depth and character to the finished roof. For the most consistent results, we recommend ordering all the tiles for a project at the same time.

Can I mix colors to create a custom blend?

Absolutely. Verea tiles are often installed using 2- or 3-color blends. We’re happy to help you select a combination and can even provide pre-blended pallets for easier on-site installation.

🧪 PERFORMANCE & DURABILITY

Are Verea tiles frost- and freeze–thaw-resistant?

Yes. They meet ASTM Grade 1 standards and are certified by Miami-Dade County. They’re manufactured to handle extreme weather conditions—including cold northern winters and hot, dry southern climates.

Verea Clay Tiles: Timeless Beauty

Verea Pan and Cover tiles are traditional two-piece Spanish barrel tiles crafted in Galicia, Spain. Made from high-quality natural clay, they deliver a timeless Mediterranean look with exceptional performance. Each tile is kiln-fired to produce deep, rich color blends that won’t fade over time, as the tones are created during the firing process—not applied as surface coatings. The classic pan and cover design allows water to shed efficiently while creating bold shadow lines that add texture and depth to the roof. Verea tiles are lightweight, frost-resistant, and easy to install using modern fastening systems. Ideal for Spanish, Mission, and Mediterranean-style architecture, these tiles offer lasting beauty, structural integrity, and the charm of Old World craftsmanship in a product designed to meet today’s performance standards.

Verea is best known for its Spanish “S” tiles and barrel tiles, which deliver the classic look of Mediterranean and Spanish Colonial architecture. These tiles feature rich, natural color blends created during the firing process—not through surface coatings—so they won’t fade or peel over time. Available in a range of warm tones and weathered finishes, Verea tiles bring depth and character to every roof.

Each tile is carefully engineered for superior water resistance, frost protection, and ease of installation, making Verea a popular choice for both traditional restorations and modern homes seeking old-world charm. Whether you’re roofing a custom villa or preserving a historic building, Verea Clay Tiles offer an ideal balance of aesthetic beauty, structural integrity, and low maintenance.
